Choosing a pushchair for your baby is something most parents must do in order to have a great & safe time in public settings with their child. Sure we can carry our children around and sit them on public benches and the like, but we really don't want to. Children have a very acute tendency to put things into their mouths, including their hands. As result of this they easily contract germs that are not their own. Pushchairs give our children mobility and a fixed place in which we have their own environment and one in which we have at least some control over the cleanliness of, unlike public facilities.
Pushchairs are really a necessity for any parent that likes to travel with their child, anyway. From shopping at the Lakeside or Brent Cross mall, to the plaza, to the auto mechanic and every place in between, we as parents have many places to go and situations to attend to, and having a convenient pushchair that gives us an opportunity to move around with flexibility while we take our kids along is something that we all find invaluable. If you don't believe that, just try using a pushchair for a month, and then try not using it for a month. It's likely that you'll see the difference and wish you had it back.
